Infinite Green Development is currently preparing a master plan to develop an agro-forestry business on a lease comprising 49,000 hectares of old growth tropical forest located in a remote area. IGD has a 99 year agro forestry lease over the land, and will put in place systems that will last well past the 99 year period.
IGD is developing a revolutionary business model that will turn an extremely isolated forestry on infertile soils into an integrated agro – forestry business protecting the local environment and creating sustainable and inter generational long term wealth for the local people. The master plan will address specific local needs such as technical training, income consistency while respecting traditional cultural practices. The business will be scalable in order to be able to compete on world markets.
The forestry could yield more than 35m³ of timber per hectare on a clear fell basis. This would give a quick infusion of wealth to the owners and a huge profit to the loggers. The local wealth would be quickly lost in the bright lights of the city and the loggers profits moved offshore to benefit the foreign owners. IGD has a longer more holistic approach and aims to create a business model that will set the benchmark for future tropical forestry projects worldwide.
Infinite Green Development is currently undertaking a study into the development of a live catch and aquaculture conditioning program for a sought after species that is underutilized in its’ native environment and highly sought after in Asian markets.
The program will involve local fishermen trapping and storing the fish in holding nets for collection on a regular basis by company owned specialized handling craft.
The fish will then be sorted into sub species and sizes and transferred to aquaculture ponds for rapid conditioning with special feeds.
High grade fish will be flown live to international markets. This is a labour intensive business that will bring new sources of income to remote communities.
Infinite Green Development has a contract for rehabilitation and recovery of a large mine tailings dump. Initial surveys show that the rehabilitation can be funded by recovery of residual minerals.
IGD is working closely with local landowners who have deep seated grievances about the mine as they feel that have borne all of the negative environmental spillover effects but did not benefit from the operation of the mine.
